Being Thankful
This time of year we often reflect on what we are thankful for. Of course there are the obvious thing- our health and well being, our family and close friends. Blah blah blah…. Let’s reflect on all the superficial things we are thankful for- shall we?
I am thankful for the shoemaker in Plainview who insisted that he put new soles and polish my Cole Haan shoes. I just picked them up and they are like brand new! Excellent!
I am thankful for losing 7 pounds from the summer. This is due to increase stress in my life (L not thankful for). The good news is that all my clothes fit and I feel really good.
I am thankful for purchasing gas in New Jersey this morning. Regular gas was under $2. I wish I could have filled up containers and carried it across to the New York boarder. This was quite exciting.
Speaking of cars, following a recent fender bender in my husbands car, I found out the insurance company declared the accident was 40% my fault and 60% the other mans fault. This is good news when you are arguing with your husband regarding money, cars, women are superior, etc.
I am thankful that my best friend Robin insisted I try Proactiv during a recent bout of stubborn acne (See mention of stress above). It really cleared up my chin and sides of my temples.
I am thankful for the nice lady at the Melville Dunkin Donuts. She is always friendly and pleasant- which is a tremendous accomplishment for a D N D. She always makes a great Egg White Flat Bread and medium coffee for me. Love it! Make mental note to find out her name and thank her next time I am in.
I am thankful for Loose Lips New York. Without it, I think I would have gone completely insane (See mention of stress above).
I am not the only one thankful for little things. My friend Michele was recently thankful for finding her grandmother “Mims” teeth in her garbage can. Just thinking of the visual of this makes me smile every time.
I am thankful for Eastern Athletic adding an 8 am spin on Thanksgiving with John. I am even more thankful that they just called me and put me on the list, so I do not have to race and get a bike. Yeah!
I am thankful that dark burgundy and plum nail polishes are in this winter. Just put Sexy Divide on my toes and just love it- very thankful! Looking forward to putting on my fingernails later this week.
And people think I am shallow….
Happy Thanksgiving!
